I asked my brother Kimmel for his favorite traveling poem so I could compose a road song. I was able to sing it for him once before he passed away.

LYRICS

Old rusty truck,
Won’t let me down,
I’m moving on,
To a far distant town.

Baby in a back seat,
Mattress on a rooftop rack,
Old cardboard box,
Stuffed in the rear bed back.

There is a River That Flows,
Lord let me know,
I wanna go to,
That River That Flows.
River That Flows.

Miles of the highway,
All pass me by,
Sun and the rain,
Will fall from the sky.
Sometimes we’re strong,
Sometimes we’re weak,
Sometimes we’re tired,
And kneel at Gods feet.

There is a River That Flows,
Lord let me know,
I wanna go to,
That River That Flows.

There is a River That Flows,
Lord let me know,
I wanna go to,

There is a River That Flows,
Lord let me know,
Cause I wanna go to,
The River That Flows.

I wanna know, help me to go,
to the River, that River,
the River That Flows.

That River That Flows.
